Hillsboro Visitors’ Committee Green Lights Grant for New Burro Statue
A beloved piece of Hillsboro History looks to be coming back to Railroad Park next year. The Hillsboro Visitors’ Committee met earlier this week and approved a grant of $2500 towards a new Burro statue in Railroad Park. Committee Chair, J.R. Strom, says it will be nice to see the Burro statue back in town.
Strom mentions what projects qualify for these funds and how you can submit your idea to the committee.
Local artist, Eric Johnson, who painted a mural near City Hall last fall, is set to create the new Burro statue. The statue was removed last fall after it was accidentally damaged. You can visit the Experience Hillsboro Facebook page for more information on how you can submit your project ideas to the committee.
