Ice Fishing Season Reminders 

People across the State of Minnesota have started taking to lakes across the state for the Winter 2024/2025 Ice Fishing Season. With the ice still in its early stages the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds fishermen to take proper safety precautions while on the ice. Northwest MN Fisheries Supervisor Nathan Olson shares some safety reminders. 

Olson also explained what you should and shouldn’t do if you do fall into the lake.

Every year we hear about pickup trucks, snowmobiles and ATVs going through the ice, and Olson reminds everyone what the recommended ice thickness is for the different types of motor vehicles.
