It’s Bonspiel Weekend at Pinehurst Resort!
Naytahwaush, MN — Get ready for a weekend of curling and partying on ice as the 12th annual Bonspiel returns to Pinehurst Resort and South Twin Lake. Event Coordinator Andy Lavoy says they’ve had to deal with some unique challenges over the past few years, including blizzards, subzero temperatures, and of course COVID, but they’ve put in a lot of time and effort once again getting everything from the Ice Bar to the curling surface ready for another go-around
The schedule of events for this weekend’s Bonspiel is similar to previous years with curling beginning on Friday afternoon and ending Sunday night. Lavoy says between the curling and other activities up on Pinehurst, there will be lots of action for everyone to take in.
As always, the 64 team tournament is full. However, Lavoy says they have seen turnover and number of new so-called “athletes” joining in on the fun in recent years.
Don’t forget to cheer on R & J Broadcasting’s own Sean Bjerk as he continues his tradition of competing in this year’s Bonspiel, which again is set for this Friday, January 14th through 16th at Pinehurst Resort in Naytahwaush.
