Federal Vaccine Mandate Impacts ABW School District
Ada, MN — The Ada-Borup-West School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday morning, January 11th. A big of the discussions was the updated CDC quarantine guidelines and new Federal vaccine mandate that impacts employers with more than 100 employees, which includes the Ada-Borup-West School District. Superintendent Aaron Cook says they were hoping the ruling would be overturned in the Supreme Court, but it appears that it will be taking effect here soon.
And during a time when workforce is hard to come by, Superintendent Cook says the ruling will absolutely lead to resignations from employees.
Also impacted by the Federal mandates is their early childhood program, which Cook says calls for even stricter measures.
There was some good news shared with the board during Tuesday morning’s meeting regarding the new CDC isolation guidelines. The new guidelines require only a 5 day isolation period following a positive test for COVID-19, followed by another 5 days of mask wearing. The new guidelines cut the previous isolation time requirements in half.
