Lake Park, MN — Through classroom learning, extracurricular activities, and preparing students for careers, the Lake Park-Audubon School District is continuing to focus its attention on creating a 21st century learning environment. At their most recent board meeting, the district moved forward with providing E-Sports opportunities for students through a Grand Forks based company called Fenworks. Lake Park-Audubon Superintendent Dr. Tim Godfrey says they’ll actually be forming a partnership with a few other schools to be able to offer it.

As far as learning in the classroom, the board recently approved spending more than $200,000 in ESSER funding for the purchase of high-tech Promethean ActivPanels for every classroom, according to Dr. Godfrey.

The ActivPanels cost around $3,000 each.

And Superintendent Godfrey reported that he is hoping to team up with area businesses, such as TEAM Industries, to develop work-based learning opportunities and apprenticeships for students.

Godfrey also reported that he intends to apply for a Youth Skills Training Grant, which provides up to $100,000 for work based, paid, learning opportunities.
