Leave no trace this Ice Fishing Season
The Minnesota DNR is reminding ice fishermen to leave no trace this ice fishing season. Northwest Minnesota Fisheries Supervisor Nathan Olson tells us more about Minnesota’s Keep it Clean Law.
Minnesota law says that all garbage and waste needs to be stored in your shelter or motor vehicles at all times unless the disposal container is secured to your shelter. Any person who violates this is subject to a civil penalty of $100 for each violation and any other fees.
With the ice getting thicker by the day, Olson also reminds fishermen about ice thickness recommendations for motor vehicles of different types.
