Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their first regular meeting of the 2022 year on Monday night, January 3rd at City Hall. At the meeting they approved many of their annual designations and appointments that they normally do at the first meeting. The Mahnomen City Council also approved their annual lobbying contract with Loren Solberg. City Administrator Kari Kirshbaum says their lobbyist play a key role helping the city plead their case when it comes to state funding.

The council also approved an agreement for services with Widseth Smith Nolting as they look to move forward with a streetscaping project in downtown Mahnomen.

The Mahnomen Fire Hall project has faced delays due to product shortages, but Administrator Kirschbaum says it looks like it may finally be completed by the end of this month.

And Kirschbaum gives a shout out to the city workers who have been working a lot of extra hours in the past few weeks during the recent snow events.

The Mahnomen City Council meets next on Tuesday, January 18th. Note that council meetings will now start at 5:30pm.
