Mahnomen School District having funding concerns
Budget talks were at the forefront during the Mahnomen School Board meeting last Thursday. Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek says the board did approve a revised budget.
Bisek says he and the board will be keeping an eye on the Minnesota Legislature, because they do have some concerns about some unfunded mandates that have been passed by the state over the last couple years.
Bisek says the Mahnomen School District also receives a substantial amount of money from the federal government, and he says the change in the presidential administration could also lead to funding questions, or concerns.
Another agenda item from last Thursday’s meeting was the canvassing of the election, and Bisek says the district is excited to welcome two new board members.
Other agenda topics included a facility project update, administrative updates, staff changes, and an update on the fall and winter sports seasons.
