With state and federal funding questions for 2026, the Mahnomen School District is looking to make $650,000 in budget cuts. Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek tells us more about the reasons for the cuts, and where they will be making cuts.

Bisek recently visited Washington DC to discuss federal funding like Impact Aid, and he says there is also a lot of uncertainty about the future of that as well.

Lastly, Bisek says the school board is looking to make changes in how they handle their cleaning staff, by moving it in house.

Other agenda items included an equipment purchase for some music equipment, the approval to purchase a handicap accessible van, and a yearly resolution with the Indian Education Parent Committee. The full conversation with Jeff Bisek can be heard online at rjbroadcasting.com.
