MN GOP Lawmakers looking to crack down on Fraud
After the Feeding Our Futures fraud scandal earlier this year, Minnesota GOP lawmakers are making fraud prevention a priority during the 2025 Legislative Session. Senator Jordan Rasmussen (R-Fergus Falls) says the 2 year budget will be a main focus for the legislature in 2025, but says it’s one of his main priorities to get Minnesota’s “fraud problem” fixed.
Senator Steve Green (R-Fosston) says he is hopeful that the latest fraud scandals will lead to government organizations like MN Health and Human Services being more open with lawmakers on what they’re actually spending taxpayer money on, and who they’re giving it to.
The Senate isn’t the only government body that’s looking to address the fraud problem, as Representative Jim Joy (R-Hawley) says there will also be a microscope on fraud, and explains why this is such an important issue.
