MN GOP Reps. Ask Walz To Ask For Major Disaster Declaration
Minnesota Republicans in the US House are asking Governor Tim Walz to immediately submit a Major Declaration Declaration request for communities affected by recent flooding. In a letter sent to the Governor, the lawmakers say “the damage from this flooding has impacted many Minnesotan families. Homes, businesses, community buildings, and public areas are under water. We ask that you immediately request a Major Disaster Declaration to help unlock federal resources for these people. “Once your request is submitted, we will also call on President Biden and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to act swiftly to approve your request and get these resources to our state.” Representatives Tom Emmer, Michelle Fischbach, Pete Stauber and Brad Finstad wrote the letter.
