(Minnesota) — The Minnesota Department of Transportation is getting a jump start on 2022 road construction projects by clearing trees and brush the state right-of-way in the central part of the state.

Tree cutting and brush removal will help clear areas for construction and improve areas of drainage once the construction is done.

Projects in the listening area that will be coming up in 2022 include:

Highway 169/210 from Aitkin to north of Hassman in Aitkin County to widen shoulders, improve drainage and reconstruct the road surface.

Business Highway 371 from Barrows to Brainerd in Crow Wing County which will reconstruct or resurface and improve.

Highway 371 in the Brainerd Lakes area in Crow Wing County will improve access from Gull Lake Dam Road to Green Gables Road including frontage roads.

Motorists are asked to watch for crews working along the MnDOT right-of-way, slow down, and obey traffic laws. More information on MnDOT’s tree guidelines and projects coming up in Central Minnesota is available with this story.
