Monday’s Life Hacks for the Week 5-1-23
Life Hacks To Try At Your Own Risk:
–Use freshly brewed coffee grounds to fill in scratches (stain) on dark wood, and also to add some acidity to garden soil.
–Substitute wax paper with bags that come in cereal boxes.
–Use Easy-Off oven cleaner to remove heavy residue from the bottom of old pots/pans, paint from metal, and remove melted plastic/rubber/synthetics on metals. No heat needed, but you have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t remove coatings that you need to keep.
–For scuffs or discoloration on Suede, brush the area with a toothbrush to loosen any debris and use white vinegar. If the area gets too “nappy”, use a shaving razor to make smooth again.
–Save the wood ashes from your fireplace and lightly sprinkle them in your garden. Wood ash is an excellent source of lime and potassium. Not only that, using ashes in the garden also provides many of the trace elements that plants need to thrive.
–Kill weeds with boiling water. All you need is tap water that’s piping hot to kill weeds in the cracks of your sidewalks and driveway. Add a tablespoon of salt to make it even more effective.
–Polish copper with ketchup. Put a dollop of ketchup on a rag, sprinkle salt on top, then rub the mixture on your copper pot or mugs the next time you’re in a rush without a proper polish.
–Put your nail polish in the fridge for 15 minutes before you apply it as it will go on smoother.
–Converting Celsius to Fahrenheit…Depending on where you live, you might be used to using Celsius or Fahrenheit. If you’re suddenly trying to figure out the difference, you can convert Celsius to Fahrenheit by doubling the Celsius number and adding 28 to it.
