Ada, MN — During a recent visit on the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program, Garry Johanson with Norman County Planning and Zoning shared some recent trends in building permits and new construction throughout the county in past couple of years. It may not be as noticeable because they are spread out throughout the rural regions, but Johanson noted that there have been a lot of building permits in the past two years for new houses, shops, and the combination of the two, shouses, on large multiacre lots.

There’s also becoming a lot of interest in renewable energy projects since Norman County passed their renewable energy ordinance precovid. Johanson says it may be possible to see solar farms hundreds of acres in size on the horizon.
