Northland Arboretum to host Firefly Festival on August 13th

Everyone is invited to experience the magic of an outdoor summer night at the Firefly Festival on Saturday evening, Aug. 13, while enjoying music and imbibing food and beverages on the grounds of the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd.

In addition to the musical stylings of One Night Stand, Jack Pine Brewery will be debuting their newest limited-edition lager, Firefly Light, the proceeds of which benefits the Arboretum. Amongst hundreds of lights flashing on the grounds will be several area food trucks with the Lakes area’s best handheld eats and yard games.

A local favorite rock, blues, and jazz band, One Night Stand was formed in 2009 as way to help non-profit organization Viva Musica raise money to keep music in Minnesota schools. They’ve played at many Brainerd Lakes venues including Zorbaz on Gull, The Side Track, Roundhouse, and Jack Pine Brewery.

The fun in nature begins at 5 p.m. with a VIP Tent in which attendees receive special seating for the show, live music performed by Bruce Archer, a commemorative glass with beverage token, and appetizers from The Shante. General admission is from 6-9 p.m.

Advance tickets are $20 and VIP tickets are $45, with all proceeds benefiting the Arboretum. Tickets are now available online at northlandarb.org, by calling 218-829-8770, or at the front desk of the Arboretum’s Visitor’s Center. Those attending should bring their own blankets or lawn chairs.

The event is sponsored by Tito’s, MidMinnesota Federal Credit Union, CTC, and Jim’s Electric. For more information, visit northlandarb.org.
