One Injured In Casselton Pickup/Train Crash
The driver of a pickup truck was seriously injured after his pickup struck a train Wednesday morning west of Casselton. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says around 7am Wednesday, a 43-year-old man from Omaha, Nebraska, was going south on 154th Avenue SE just west of Casselton and a BNSF train was going west on the rail line. The pickup driver didn’t yield to the train and tried to cross the railroad tracks. The train hit the front of the pickup, causing it to spin out. The driver had serious injuries and was taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. He is also facing charges of DUI, distracted driving, open container and unlawful possession of THC. The driver’s name has not been released.
