REACH Spirit of Giving
Hawley, MN — Now is the time to get registered to the REACH Spirit of Giving Program if you haven’t done so yet. The REACH Spirit of Giving Program provides special food baskets containing holiday meal items at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. The deadline to register for the Thanksgiving basket is October 13th and November 10th for the Christmas basket. The baskets include items such as turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, canned vegetables, rolls, pie, and other items as available. The baskets will be distributed through either the Hawley or Hendrum locations.
Jill Ambuehl, REACH Executive Director, and Stephanie Schenk, REACH Family Support Coordinator, says they are expecting an increase in sign ups this year given our current economic climate.
Also as part of the Spirit of Giving, Christmas gifts can be requested for children up to age 18. Schenk says gift tags are distributed to volunteers who purchase and wrap the gifts.
The Thanksgiving food basket distribution will take place from 10am until 2pm on November 15th in Hendrum and November 16th in Hawley and the Christmas food basket and gift distribution will take place from 10am until 2pm on December 13th in Hendrum and December 14th in Hawley.
