Red River Valley Water Issues Forum Meeting Set for Friday in Ada
Ada, MN — The Red River Valley Agriculture Water Issues Forum Meetings return this year with coordination from the Red River Watershed Management Board, Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Coalition, and Minnesota Farm Bureau July 20th through the 22nd. These meetings aim to provide a place where farmers can talk about water issues effecting their operations and learn how farmers and organizations are working together to tackle water issues in the Red River Valley, according to Whitney Pittman, Marketing and Member Specialist with the Minnesota Farm Bureau.
Meeting agendas will include a legislative update from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation, a presentation of local watershed district efforts by Rob Sip, Executive Director of the Red River Watershed Management Board, NRCS Programs to Help Farmland Owners Address Flooding, and Tile Water Quality in NW MN with Tim Radatz, Coordinator, Discovery Farms Minnesota.
Producers throughout the Red River Valley are invited to attend, ask questions, and learn from the presenters. Pittman adds that their goal with these meetings is to pool together resources and continue to have conversations about water issues.
All meetings will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude with a free lunch provided by the hosts at noon.
Locally, the Red River Valley Water Issues forum will be held this Friday, July 22nd will be in Ada, MN, at the Dave Scherfenberg Shop location, 4.5 miles West of Ada on Hwy 200, 2.5 miles north on Hwy 18. Then turn west on 225th Ave., south on 220th St., turn east on 220th Ave. The driveway is on the north side of the road.
Signs will be posted to direct attendees.
