Senate Committee on Education Policy discusses bill that would ban cell phone usage in Minnesota Schools 

The Minnesota Senate Committee on Education Policy met on Monday, and had a discussion on Senate File 508, which is a bill that would restrict cell phone usage in schools statewide. Bill Author Senator Alice Mann summarizes her bill. 

Senator Mann said her bill was written after traveling the state to meet with school staff, administrators, and students, and she highlights some of the issues that were brought up by schools during her travels. 

Senator Mann also spoke about schools that have already implemented cell phone bans, and the benefits it has had on their student bodies.
