Senate Finance Committee passes real EMS bill
During their most recent meeting the Minnesota Senate Finance Committee heard SF3886 which is a bill authored by Senator Grant Hauschild (D-Hermantown) that would help fund rural EMS departments. Senator Hauschild tells us more about his bill.
After Senator Hauschild’s rundown of the bill Senator Eric Pratt (R-Prior Lake) introduced the A-17 Amendment that would increase the funding from $24 million to $50 million. Senator Rich Draheim (R-Madison Lake) also chimed in and said that the amount is not enough and asked for this amendment to be passed.
A roll call vote to adopt the amendment was held and it failed 7-5. SF3886 without the amendment was then voted on and passed unanimously moving it forward in the legislative process.
