SESVanderHave parent company Florimond Desprez Group and DLF Seeds agree to merger
Florimond Desprez Group, the parent company of SESVanderHave, announced today that they have agreed to a merger with Danish based DLF Seeds. The companies will be combining their research and production activities for sugar beet, fodder beet and industrial chicory seeds under a new name called United Beet Seeds (UBS). This strategic partnership will position UBS as a leading player in the global beet seed market.
In the release announcing the merger DLF Seeds CEO Søren Halbye said that “Sugar beet is a crop with great prospects for the future, but the competition in this market is fierce. To succeed, we need to invest significantly and develop competitive and resilient varieties. Joining forces with Florimond Desprez Group is essential. As we launch this joint venture, I am excited to strengthen our competitiveness by pooling our technologies, value chains and market access.”
United Beet Seeds will be led by Lilian Escalon, who was appointed CEO of SESVanderHave a few months ago.
