Each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. It’s a time to share what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day. The week-long tradition began in 1947 when the National FFA Board of Directors designated the week of George Washington’s birthday as National FFA Week in recognition of his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer.

Clearbrook-Gonvick’s FFA Chapter is growing each year. Kaylee is in 9th grade and this is her third year in the organization. She was interviewed in Crookston last week and selected to be the new regional officer. She talks about what she enjoys most about FFA.

FFA chapters from across the United States are impacting their communities this week by taking the time to host service projects that make a difference. At Clearbrook-Gonvick school they are making agriculture fun for the students this week with activities such as door decorating and tug of war and dodge ball contests with teachers vs. students.

Presley is in 10th grade and is the Clearbrook-Gonvick Chapter treasurer. She talks about her duties.

FFA students regularly compete in contests related to agriculture, environmental and natural resources, public speaking, forestry and many other categories. At a recent contest Clearbrook-Gonvick FFA members qualified for state. They will have another opportunity to earn points to qualify for state at their next contest in March.
