The role of water retention in agriculture

R&J Ag Reporter Nick Revier is at the Big Iron Farm Show in Fargo, and had the chance to talk with Brian Fuder of the Red River Retention Authority. Water of course plays a big role in agriculture and Fuder explains what the Retention Authority is and their role in our region’s agriculture. 

Water drainage is a major component of the Retention Authority, and Fuder explains why it’s vital to our area ag community, and the impact it has on our crop. 

Over the years flood retention strategies have shifted toward slowing the outflow of water downstream. Fuder explains why this is.
