Three Mahnomen Area Farmers Receive Energy Efficiency Grants
Three farmers in the Mahnomen area will be receiving grants from the Rural Energy for America program for renewable energy projects. Dean Walz will receive $70,600 to buy and install a 40 kilowatt solar array for his dairy farm. Patrick Noll will receive a $75,526 grant to buy and install an energy efficient grain dryer for his farm. And Aaron Vipond will receive a $228,463 grant to buy and install an energy efficient grain dryer for his farm. The Rural Energy for America program aims to help ag producers and rural small business owners make energy efficiency improvements.
