Toys for Tots celebrating 77th Christmas
The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Champaign has been a pinnacle of Christmas for decades, and it’s hard not to notice the drop off bins located near the check outs at area stores while you do your Christmas Shopping. While they’ve been around since 1947 many don’t know the history of the organization, and why the United States Marine Corps is so involved. Toys for Tots Vice President Colonel Ted Silvester gives us a lesson on the history of Toys for Tots, and the military’s involvement.
Toy’s For Tots is identifiable by their bright red color, and their iconic Train logo, which also has an interesting history behind it, as it was created by one of the most influential men in film history. Colonel Silvester tells us more.
