Weather Radar Gaps

Norman County Emergency Management Director Garry Johanson says gaps in weather radar coverage can mean communities don’t get adequate warning of an approaching storm.  He says a new radar installed in Wendell, Minnesota, recently spotted something the Grand Forks radar didn’t.

Johanson says he and other emergency management directors in Minnesota will approach the State Legislature next year, which is a budget year, about setting up weather radar to fill those coverage gaps.
