Weird and Wacky Wednesday: “Man finds rare purple pearl in seafood dinner”
Scott Overland was enjoying dinner with his family at a seafood restaurant in Delaware when he made an amazing discovery. While enjoying an appetizer, Scott found a rare purple pearl inside one of the clams. At first, he thought it was a bead or a little piece of candy that the chef might have put into the food. But when Scott and his wife looked closer, they realized that the pearl was real — and had originated inside the shell of the clam. Scott and his family are now trying to figure out just how rare and special this pearl is. Some early research suggests that it could be worth as little as $600 — or as much as $16,000. Since the appetizer cost just $14, finding the pearl will end up being a great value regardless of the final asking price. (WCAU-TV)
