Winter recreation opportunities at Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuge
Winter has arrived, which means that the Rydell and Glacial Ridge Wildlife Refuge will be opening their trails for winter recreation very soon. Refuge manager Gregg Knutsen says the trails aren’t quite ready for use yet, but will be soon.
While the details aren’t finalised yet, Knutsen says plans are being made for the return of their ever popular candle light ski event.
With snowmobile season officially underway for parts of the region, Knutsen reminds people that there is no snowmobile usage allowed on the refuge, and its many trails.
You can see more information about the Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges on their webpages on the Fish and Wildlife website at www.fws.gov/refuge.
