2025 Fall Calf Market outlook  

Cattle Markets remain high across the country, as the cattle herd is at its lowest in over fifty years. With these high prices, many area cattle producers have their eyes on the upcoming fall calf season. R&J Ag reporter Nick Revier recently caught up with Billy Bushelle of the Bagley Livestock Exchange, who tells us what we can expect to see in the upcoming fall calf market. 

The question a lot of cattle producers will be asking is whether they should bring their calves to market immediately, or background them. Bushelle says the answer to the question depends on how your operation is currently set up. 

Another question producers have is how long will the beef market stay high, and Bushelle gives his best answer to the question.
