2026 Legislative Session preview 

The 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session is less than a month away, and like the past few years it’s expected to be a very interesting year in St Paul. Minnesota Senator Steve Green (R-Fosston) expects that it will be “one of those years” with a lot of unknowns heading into the session. 

As for priorities, Green says his goal is to roll back unnecessary regulations, and avoid doing further damage to the state financially. 

For Senator Rob Kupec (DFL-Moorhead) one thing he will be spending a lot of time on, is legislation to help make water management projects more efficient in the planning 

The 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 17, with the House and Senate convening at noon.
