304 fentanyl pills seized after 2 year old overdoses from fentanyl exposure in Aitkin County
According to the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office three adults have been arrested after a two year old was exposed to crushed fentanyl at a residence North of Garrison. The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office says that the incident happened on Friday, 21 after family members of the 2 year old called 911 once the child was unresponsive. The Child was transported to a Twin Cities hospital by air ambulance and is currently in stable condition.
After a search warrant was executed at the child’s residence five juveniles were taken into protective custody including a different 2 year old who was found in close proximity to crushed fentanyl. Officers have arrested 3 people including a 31 year old man, and two women aged 27 and 47. The 31 year old man is facing charges of 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment while the 27 year old woman is facing similar charges. The 47 year old woman is also facing charges of harboring a fugitive, and aiding an offender.
The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office seized 304 fentanyl pills and several grams of fentanyl powder. Further charges are expected to be given out as the investigation continues.
