Mahnomen/Waubun at Blackduck

The Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds played solid defense all night, built a double digit lead, and then had to weather a late Blackduck rally to come away with a 60-48 win in the Section 8A East sub-section tournament.  The Thunderbirds did a great job of limiting the Drakes shot selection, and then forced them to turn the ball over.  Blackduck was able to rally from a 15 point deficit in the 2nd half to cut the lead to 3 with time winding down, but Mahnomen Waubun was solid from the free throw line to finish out the game and advance to the next round of the tournament.  Mahnomen Waubun is now 9-18 while Blackduck finishes their season at 14-13.
