Thompson Takes Third At State A Girls Basketball

Thompson scored 22 points off turnovers as the Tommies defeated Valley City 58-54 Saturday in the third place game at the North Dakota Class A Girls State High School Basketball Tournament at Minot State University.

Kya Hurst scored 16 points and Addison Sage 15 as Thompson bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to South Prairie-Max in Friday’s semifinal.  Thompson out-rebounded Valley City 33-28 and forced 14 turnovers.

Tesa Olson led Valley City with 22 points and Drew Potratz chipping in with 15 as the Hi-Liners finish the season 19-9.

Thompson ends the season with a 24-1 record.
