Fertile City Council Meets
FERTILE, MN—Much of Monday night’s Fertile City Council meeting concerned Fair Meadow Nursing Home. The City of Fertile owns Fair Meadow…and one item approved at Monday’s meeting involved paying Health Dimension Group, which is running the nursing home, $68,000 in overdue invoices. R&J News asked Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden if the City was behind in paying Health Dimension Group.
Monday’s Fertile City Council meeting had a 57 minute pause while the Council met in closed session with the attorney who is handling the lawsuit filed by former Fair Meadow administrator Angie Leiting against the City, Fair Meadow and Mayor Dan Wilkens. When the council meeting resumed, residents asked why the City couldn’t continue to operate Fair Meadow. Councilman Matthew Massman gave the Council’s side.
And the Fertile City Council approved an agreement with Pemberton Law of Fergus Falls to provide advice regarding a potential sale of Fair Meadow…as well as serving as an appraiser to determine the real estate and business value of Fair Meadow.
A motions hearing in Leiting’s case against the City of Fertile is scheduled for April 24.
