Edgeley/Ellendale/Kulm vs Thompson
Recap
Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm continued its strong start to their 2024 fall football campaign, dispatching Thompson Friday in Thompson, 30-7.
The Thunder scored touchdowns on each of their first four possessions. Sophomore quarterback, Drew Thorpe, played arguably the game of his career, completing nine of ten passes for over 150 yards and two touchdowns. The two touchdowns were the first two of the game, one each to seniors, Max Tjernlund (nine yards) and Joseph Kramlich (57 yards). The two other touchdowns came on the ground from junior, Ivan Carruth (two yards) and senior, Damian Carlson (eight yards). Thorpe added four extra points for the Thunder’s 28 first half points.
Thompson’s only touchdown came on a 35-yard run from junior, Charlie Yon. Senior, Thomas Schumacher, knocked in the extra point for the seventh and final point of the game for the Tommies. The only points in the second half came off a botched Thompson punt that rolled through the back of the end zone, giving the Thunder a safety.
Thompson senior, Josh Juve, led all ball carriers with 99 yards rushing while Kramlich led all receivers with 106 yards.
The Thunder will look to stay undefeated as they host Hillsboro/Central Valley next Friday. Thompson will look to get back on track at winless Oakes.
