VB Lake Park-Audubon at Fosston
It was back and forth all night as the Fosston Greyhounds held off the Lake Park-Audubon Raiders 3-2 (25-23, 17-25, 25-15, 12-25 & 16-14). It was Parents Night and “Dig Pink” night at the Fosston Gym and the Greyhounds and Raiders played an exciting match for the fans. The first set featured 12 ties and the Greyhounds came out on top 25-25. The Raiders had a 14-12 lead in the fifth set but the Greyhounds scored the final four points to win the set and the match. It was the second time in less than a week that Fosston trailed 14-12 in the fifth set and came back to win. The Greyhounds did the same thing last Thursday in a 3-2 win at Bagley. Lexi Mahlen led the Fosston attack with 20 kills as the Greyhounds improve to 10-10 overall and 5-3 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Ava Hayes had 11 kills, Sofia Rue 8 kills and Teagan Duppong 7 kills for Fosston. Kennedy Beringer led Lake Park-Audubon with 12 kills as the Raiders fall to 8-12 overall and 2-5 in the conference. Keela Johnson added 9 kills and Taylor Haugrud 7 kills for the Raiders. Lake Park-Audubon won the “B” Squad match 2-1 with Fosston winning the “C” Squad match 2-0. The Greyhounds will return to action on Thursday, October 10th when they travel to East Grand Forks Sacred Heart. The Raiders will also play their next match on Thursday when they host the Bagley Flyers
