Emergency Preparedness Meeting In Halstad
Wednesday night in Halstad there was a meeting about being prepared for an emergency. There was discussion about having emergency kits and having food and prescription medications. Along with that, Norman County Emergency Management Director Garry Johanson said the Landmark Gym—the former Norman County West School Gym—could be approved as a FEMA shelter. And Johanson says the shelter should also accommodate pets, as well as people.
Johanson also says another concern he has is with cybersecurity, especially if we were to lose electricity for long periods.
Wednesday’s meeting was sponsored by Norman County Emergency Management and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
