ADA, MN—

The Ada A’s stayed alive in the Region 10C baseball playoffs with a 7-3 victory over Hawley Tuesday night at Tony Sipe Field.  

Hawley scored twice in the first inning…Ada responded with a run in the second and tied the game 2-2 in the fourth on Nick Johnson’s home run to right.  The Hawks regained the lead in the fifth on Skylar Timmer’s rbi single.

In the sixth, the A’s tied the game again on Blake Fetting’s run-scoring single.  Then in the seventh, Ada took the lead for the first time when with two out and Jake Osowski on first, Drake Solseng singled..and when the throw from the outfield was off target, Osowski scored to give the A’s a 4-3 lead.

The A’s got insurance runs in the seventh inning when with two out, Blake Fetting was hit by a pitch and Riley Resnick, Johnson and Osowski delivered back to back to back doubles to make the score 7-3. 

Zephyr Resnick was the winning pitcher for Ada….allowing 8 hits, one walk and 5 strikeouts.  A’s Coach Mike Erickson was pleased with his pitcher.

Ethan Ibach took the loss for Hawley (5-12) in relief of starting pitcher Mason Klevgaard. Ibach pitched 3 innings, allowing 9 hits, 5 runs (4 earned), no walks, and a hit batter with 5 strikeouts.

Blake Fetting and Oskowski each had 3 hits and an rbi for Ada (14-8), Johnson and Beau Fetting had two hits apiece as everyone in the A’s lineup had at least one hit.

Casey Venske, Skylar Timmer and Teague Spillum had two hits apiece for Hawley.

Ada’s next game in the Region 10C baseball tournament will be Saturday at 1pm in Hibbing against Detroit Lakes.
