RRCC Volleyball Coach’s Choice Awards – September 20-26th

On the Rainy River Campus, the Voyageur’s Volleyball team will be on the road today to play Itasca at 6:30pm. The road trip ends on October 2nd where they’ll return for their next home game.

Also, this week’s Coach’s Choice Awards have been announced:

The two Defensive players of the week for this past week of tough competition are Alysa Padgett and Anna Alongi.

Padgett earned the coaches choice for defensive player putting up 14 blocks as well as 17 kills and hitting a solid .209 on the week, and rounded it off with 3 ace serves.

Alongi earned the second coaches choice for defensive award of the week, and her second of the season. Anna had some incredible game changing saves, and had 30 digs in the last 3 matches. Anna also served 9 ace serves and had 15 kills.

The two offensive award winners are Evelyn Perkins who had our team best hitting percentage of the week and also had 35 set assists as well as 5 ace serves.

The other was Roos Verreck who also earned her second offensive award of the season with her setting contributions at 51 set assists this past week, she also had 26 digs.

Of course, we can’t forget the Teammate of the Week which was awarded to Duru Ildir who brings a positive light everywhere she goes and always supports her teammates through the highs and lows of matches.
