Fosston 3 Blackduck 1 (28-26, 25-22, 15-25, 25-23)

The Fosston Greyhounds advanced to the Section 8A Quarterfinals with a hard fought 3-1 win at Blackduck on Wednesday night. The Drakes missed three set point chances in the first set and Fosston won 28-26. The Greyhounds won the second set 25-22 and Blackduck took the third set 25-15. It looked as if the match was heading to a fifth set but the Greyhounds scored the final four points in the fourth set to win 25-23. Lexi Mahlen led the Greyhounds with 15 kills as Fosston improved to 12-13 overall. Teagan Duppong added 12 kills and Ava Hayes and Sofia Rue each had 9 kills for Fosston. Bella Bloom led Blackduck with 20 kills as the Drakes end their season with an overall record of 16-7. Marissa Mills added 17 kills for Blackduck. Fosston will now face Fertile-Beltrami in the Section 8A Quarterfinals Friday night at Fertile (96.7 FM). The Falcons beat the Greyhounds 3-2 in the final regular season match for both teams on October 15th at Fertile.
