During their regular meeting on Monday, the Hillsboro City Commission gave community members the opportunity to voice their concerns on the city’s growing stray dog dilemma. Auditor, Casey Eggermont, sums up where the city stands now on the issue.

Among the many other action items during the meeting, the commission approved the purchase of software from Tyler Technologies. Eggermont explains how the software will end up saving residents and businesses in the long run.

Another long-standing set of action items also seems to have been resolved. The commission approved increasing the armory cleaning and damage deposit from $300 to $500. The rental fee remains at $300. Along the same lines, the commission approved a 15-year armory rental agreement with Mayville State University. Other approved action items included a series of tax proceed dedications to various projects. The commission also agreed to no additional salary increases in the public works department, with one exception.

The next meeting is set for Monday, November 18th at 6:30pm at the Main Street Community Center.
