The Springfield Tigers scored 30 unanswered 4th quarter points to defeat the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds 30-16 in the class A state semi finals. The Thunderbirds controlled the game through 3 quarters with a grinding offense that are up clock and yards and would give them a 16-0 lead going into the 4th quarter. Springfield offense would gain momentum putting together a scoring drive early in the 4th, and after a couple of big defensive stops and an a big interception the Tigers would strike quick scoring on the next 3 possessions and coming away with the come from behind win. Springfield will no play for a Class A title while Mahnomen Waubun season comes to an end at 11-0.
