The weather is getting colder every week, and with this comes an increased risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. With it being carbon monoxide awareness month Safe Kids Grand Forks is sharing ways that you can keep your family safe from this silent killer. Carma Hansen of Safe Kids Grand Forks tells us more about Carbon Monoxide exposure, and why it’s so deadly.

Hansen says that you can show symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure, but unfortunately they’re similar to the flu, so it can be difficult to identify.

Hansen also explains some sources of carbon monoxide so that you can take the appropriate steps in its prevention.

Finally Hansen says the key to carbon monoxide exposure prevention is to have a carbon monoxide detector in your house, or any area that may be at risk of exposure.

It is recommended that every level in your house have at least one carbon monoxide detector. For more information on Safe Kids Grand Forks or carbon monoxide poisoning go to safekidsgf.com.
