Mahnomen City Council Update
MAHNOMEN, MN—There wasn’t a great deal of business discussed at Monday’s Mahnomen City Council meeting. The Council approved a three year lease for Craig LaVoi to lease an area known as the Lagoon property—a 35 acre tract of land in Pembina Township, at $105 per acre…for a total annual payment of $3675 per year. The Council also declared the property at 312 South Main Street to be a public nuisance.
Following the meeting, R&J News had a chance to visit with Mahnomen’s new Mayor, Curtis Uran. He won a write-in campaign for Mayor earlier this month, after current Mayor Julie Hanson decided not to run for re-election. Uran talks about what he would bring to the City.
Uran will officially take office in January.
