Bagley at Clearbrook-Gonvick
Recap
GBB Bagley at Clearbrook-Gonvick
Clearbrook, MN — The Bagley Flyers beat the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears on Thursday night 57-45 in an intercounty rivalry game.
Bagley came into the game with four losses on the season and according to first year Head Coach Matt Hoie, slow starts have doomed the Flyers in their losses. But on Thursday night, it was Bagley who took control right away. The Flyers led 14-5 early in the first half and eventually stretched their lead to 11 points taking full control 17-6. Clearbrook-Gonvick though answered with a 7-0 run to get back within four points 23-19, back to back three pointers to end the first half from Bagley’s Shayla Hvezda and Lydia Ramsrud gave the Flyers a 29-19 lead at halftime.
Bagley would stay in control in half number two, holding a double digit lead most of the time and at one point lead by twenty points 50-30. Some Clearbrook-Gonvick pressure late forced the Flyers into some turnovers and points the other way for Clearbrook-Gonvick but it wouldn’t be enough as Bagley would win 57-45.
With the win, Bagley is now 5-4 on the season and will be off until January 3rd when they travel to NCE/-U-H to take on the Titans. Clearbrook-Gonvick is also off until the 3rd of January and they will play at Blackduck.
