GBB Win-E-Mac at Fosston

The Fosston Greyhounds held off a late second half rally from Win-E-Mac to win 45-38 Friday night in Fosston. It was the fourth of four games played as part of the Basketball Extravaganza as KKCQ 96.7 FM broadcast the 7th grade, 8th grade, Junior Varsity and Varsity games. Lexi Mahlen survived some 1st half foul trouble to score 15 points and pull down 15 rebounds for Fosston. Brielle Duppong hit three 3 pointers and scored 11 points for the Greyhounds as they improve to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. The Greyhounds held a 15 point lead at 43-28 but the Patriots went on a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to five at 43-38. Ensley Haskett led Win-E-Mac with 12 points with Lauren Kaupang adding 10 points and 12 rebounds as the Patriots fall to 1-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference. In the other games played as part of the Extravaganza, Fosston won the 7th grade game 32-19 with Emma Howard, Elise Fonder and Corbyn Guy each scoring 10 points for Fosston. LaShelle Johns led Win-E-Mac with 14 points. Fosston won the 8th grade game 34-6 with Corbin Guy scoring 10 points and pulling down 9 rebounds for Fosston. Jana Garrison and Emma Heller each added 8 points for Fosston. The Greyhounds won the “B” Squad game 31-18 with Hannah Fonder leading Fosston with 10 points and Hatty Quam adding 8 points and Brielle Duppong 7 points for Fosston. Kendra Cherf led the Patriots with 6 points in the “B” Squad game.
