Ogilvie at Pine River-Backus

In their first meeting since 2013, the Pine River-Backus Tigers used an offensive outburst and pressuring defense to turn away the Ogilvie Lions 84-66 to open up the season.
PRB rushed out early with a 15-4 lead setting the tone with full court defense that forced Ogilvie into 21 first half turnovers. The Tigers lead by as many as 23 with around 7 minutes left in the first half. Some foul trouble helped Ogilvie cut the lead to 14 where it stayed until halftime with PRB up 45-31.
Early in the second half, PRB pushed the lead back to 20 and with the offense continuing to fire on all cylinders, the Lions didn’t stand a chance at a comeback.
Pine River-Backus hit 12 three pointers on the night, out rebounded Ogilvie 43-30 and forced a total of 29 Lions turnovers.
Mimi Buckers lead the way with 24 for the Tigers. Aaliyah Lewis came off the bench scoring 20, Leah Eveland knocked down five threes on her way to 17 plus dished out 4 assists, and Sawyer Tulenchik added 14 along with five steals and four assists.
