Elks Thanksgiving Turkey Chefs
The Elks Lodge #1599 of International Falls is gonna host their Thanksgiving Dinner for all to enjoy on the Turkey-centered holiday. Speaking of turkeys, the Elks had cooked a lot of it for their Dinner. 32 turkeys to be more precise, and the Elks entrusted the responsibility to Tim McKay and Bill Mason so here is Tim to tell us what it’s all about.
Of course, we also talked to Tim’s “wing”-man (get it!) Bill Mason about their system to cook the birds.
In fact they have a whole assembly line for preparing the Turkeys and separating the dark and light meat.
And what happens to the gizzard?
Bill was then asked if the cooks got to pick at some of the meat.
They were then asked how many people are apart of the production.
There’s even a delivery option for people who cannot make the dinner in person.
You can even bring a to-go plate or container.
We couldn’t leave yet, not until we asked about the sides.
Food will be delivered from 10-11 a.m. with dine-in hours from noon to 2 p.m., or before, if food runs out. Elks Lodge 1599 is at 215 Third St., International Falls. Please DO NOT call the Elks with questions or to order meals to go. For meals to go and delivery, call Joann Dornhecker at 218-283-2229, leave a message if she doesn’t answer.
To volunteer, or for general questions about the dinner, call Ronna MacKay at 218-340-9368. If you want meals to go you must come in and go thru the line as you would if you were staying . But we really do encourage everyone to stay and enjoy fellowship with others.
