New Years Resolutions: How to set yourself up for success

The New Year is almost here, and people all across the world will be setting a New Year’s resolution to better their life. Kim Meyers of Norman Mahnomen public health is sharing some things you can do to raise your chances of sticking with your goals. Myers says one of the biggest mistakes people make when they set a New Year’s resolution is they start off too strong, instead of gradually building up to their goal.

Myers says it’s also important for people to be patient with themselves, and to hold themselves accountable, and set reminders.

Myers says resolutions don’t have to be exercise based, and she says it’s okay for your resolution to be small goals.

Most importantly, if you fail or hit a roadblock, Myers says it’s important to stick with your resolution and not give up.
