Mahnomen School hiring Andrea Simon as next Superintendent 

After a lengthy search, the Mahnomen School Board has hired  Andrea Simon as their new superintendent, as longtime superintendent Jeff Bisek will be retiring in June. Bisek tells us more about the hiring that was approved at Monday’s School Board meeting. 

Bisek says the board had a discussion on school funding, as much of the schools state and federal funding is in limbo. Bisek says this could have major implications on the budget in future years. 

Lastly Bisek said there was another discussion on the school’s cell phone policy. 

Other agenda items from Monday’s board meeting included an increase in the school’s drivers ed fee, a discussion on next year’s school calendar, and the scheduling of a future planning meeting.
